The following is a list of items that are not allowed in security areas on university property for special events.

  • Backpacks or bags
  • Weapons (firearms or simulated firearms)
  • Ammunition
  • Weapons (dirks, daggers, ice picks or other items)
  • Improvised weapons as determined by law enforcement officers
  • Tasers or stun guns or similar electronic control weapons
  • Mace or pepper spray
  • Hard plastic, metal or glass bottles or jars, such as Nalgene, bike water bottles, etc.
  • Masks of any kind
  • Gas masks
  • Helmets
  • Animals, other than working service animals
  • No object or sign larger thank 30 inches by 30 inches. Objects or signs will only be allowed if made of foam core, cardboard or paper
  • Shields
  • Balls or other projectiles
  • Hard or frozen fruit or vegetables
  • Sticks including selfie sticks, poles, clubs, or wood, plastic or metal pipes
  • Chains with pad locks
  • Baseball bats
  • Fireworks
  • Explosive devices
  • Incendiary devices
  • Aerosols  or pressurized cans
  • Batteries
  • Hard coolers
  • Umbrellas
  • Artificial noise making devices
  • Monopods or tripods
  • Laser pointers
  • Tobacco products including e-cigarettes
  • Skateboards, scooters or bicycles
  • Bicycle U-locks
  • Balloons
  • Illegal drugs including marijuana, which is prohibited on university property
  • BBQ grills of any kind
  • Structures, canopies or pop-up tents
  • Wagons or carts that can be pulled
  • Drones and other unmanned aircraft systems
  • Packages
