Emergency Operations Plan
Colorado State University (CSU) is vulnerable to numerous natural, technological, and human-caused hazards that can affect students, faculty, staff, guests, university property and the surrounding community. To effectively respond to these hazards, CSU has adopted an updated Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) to provide a basic framework to guide response, continuity and recovery efforts. The plan meets the National Incident Management System (NIMS) requirements using the Incident Command System (ICS) established by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
In the event a major emergency impacts the CSU campus community or disrupts university programs, operations, teaching and/or research, the plan describes the response when daily operating procedures are insufficient to address the situation. The EOP is an all-hazards approach, applying consistent policies and procedures to address any emergency including but not limited to fire or explosion, hazardous materials release, extended power outage, flooding, bioterrorism, terrorist attack, cyber-attack, active shooter incidents and/or mass casualty events.
